2025 - 2026 Dual Enrollment Scholarship

Scholarships are available for high school students participating in dual enrollment. The number of scholarships is limited. 

To be considered for a scholarship, students must reside in a Pennsylvania household with an adjusted gross income of less than $112,300 plus $19,700 for each dependent listed on the 2024 Federal 1040 tax return.

Disabled American Veterans Chapter 114 Scholarship

This scholarship is open to the child or grandchild of a disabled (military service connected) veteran.

To apply, submit a 3" x 5" index card including the following information:

  • Your name
  • Name of the parent or grandparent that is a Disabled Veteran, and their branch of service.
  • School name
  • Name of intended college, university, trade school, or military plans, along with proposed major or specialty.

GDS Fair Scholarship

Requirements:

1. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in any of the following school districts: Delaware Valley, East Stroudsburg North, Forest City, North Pocono, Wallenpaupack, Wayne Highlands or Western Wayne including those enrolled in a state-approved home school program

2. Applicant must be enrolled in either an Associates or Bachelor degree level program, or a post secondary trade or technical school, and is starting their courses in the summer or fall semester of the current year

3. Applicant must have contributed to community service locally or in school

4. Applicant must meet at least ONE of the following requirements:

  • Be a member of the GDS Fair
  • Be a child or grandchild of a member of the GDS Fair
  • Have contributed significantly to the preparation and/or conduct of the GDS Fair in the past 3 years

Greater Honesdale Partnership Community Impact Scholarship

The Greater Honesdale Partnership Community Impact Scholarship, open to graduating seniors from the Wayne Highlands, Wallenpaupack, and Western Wayne School Districts, as well as to home-schooled students residing within these districts.

This scholarship was created to encourage youth to actively engage in their communities. These experiences foster a strong sense of community pride. Our hope is that this scholarship inspires students to build on these connections and carry forward a lifelong commitment to Wayne County.

Jeremy J. Hiller Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all graduating seniors going into college and trade/technical school. 

Additionally, they are fortunate enough to have 2 additional scholarships to offer this year which have been donated by Garrettwood Farms Lawn and Garden, Inc. They are sponsoring 2 ($500) scholarships specific to those entering the trades. Please use the same application for this opportunity as well.

I.O.O.F. Nakomis Rebekah Lodge #497 Scholarship

The Nakomis Rebekah Lodge #497 is pleased to offer a scholarship to help our young neighbors grow into future leaders.  The Lodge recognizes the need for higher education and the increasing cost of obtaining this goal. This scholarship will be awarded to a qualified student who will be attending college or a vocational program after college.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant must be a student in good standing for two (2) years prior to the application deadline.
  • The scholarship applicant must show proof of a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or C average each year.
  • Applicant must be accepted or attending as a full-time student at a college or university or vocational/technical institution for an entire year. A copy of the verification must be included.

The Jennifer Killam Memorial Scholarship

The Jennifer Killam Memorial Scholarship, presented by the Honesdale Area Jaycees, will award One $1,500 scholarship.

Criteria include: post-secondary plans, community service, volunteerism, extra-curricular activities, awards, and an essay. Transcripts are NOT required.

Dorothy Noble Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship

The Wayne Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution plans to award $250 for the Dorothy Noble Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship to a student who has exhibited the qualities of good citizenship in every aspect of his or her life.  There will be four schools in Wayne and Pike counties competing for this award.

Two students will be nominated from Honesdale High School to be considered for this award; they do not necessarily have to have high academic standing, but should not be failing in any subject area.  These students should have a desire to secure an education beyond secondary level in any field of further education.  The persons nominated should exhibit the qualities of trustworthiness, caring for others, dependability, and a sense of patriotism at school and all aspects of life.

In order for the Wayne Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, to select the scholarship winner we would appreciate the following:

*Information sheet including student name, address, and phone number (information sheet linked below)

*A letter of recommendation by Principal, a teacher, or Guidance Counselor, telling us about the student and why he or she should be considered for the award.

*Transcript of grades from the last marking period.

*Letter of not more than 350 words from the selected student setting forth the reasons for desiring an education beyond high school. (Not necessarily a college)

*Only neatly printed or typed letters will be considered.

Wayne County Business and Professional Women's Club Scholarship

The Wayne County Business and Professional Women's Club is offering a scholarship to high school seniors this year.  The application is linked below for any senior that may be interested in completing it.

Additional Requirements:

  • Current or most recent Transcript;
  • Proof of enrollment in college or vocational training program;
  • Two (2) letters of Recommendation from two (2) different sources. Recommendations can’t be from a relative. Recommendations from a teacher, professor, guidance counselor, school official, employer, clergy, and the like are preferred;
  • Family Member is/was a veteran or service person
  • An essay which addresses your specific educational and career goals and how your educational endeavor will help you accomplish these goals and/or make a difference in your professional career.  Include information concerning your background, your family, education, volunteer activities; your goals in life; your strengths/weaknesses, and the reasons why you want to pursue your selected career.  Additionally, and most critical to this scholarship application, please discuss how the family member’s service to America impacted your life. The Wayne County Business and Professional Women’s Scholarship Committee will consider your essay carefully when your application is evaluated.  It should be well thought out and relevant to your career goals.  (Please limit your essay to 500 words);
  • Certification and Release; and
  • Completed Waiver Request, if desired.

Wayne County Fair Scholarship

The Wayne County Fair Scholarship requires the following:

  1. Must be a 2026 High School Graduate
  2. Copy of official high school transcript
  3. Copy of college acceptance letter
  4. Submit 2 Letters of Recommendation (non-family)
  5. Participation at the Wayne County Fair (worked, volunteered, exhibited, etc) within the last three out of four years.

The Women's Club of Honesdale Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all seniors at Honesdale High School who are applying or have applied to a two or four year college OR technical school. The scholarship award will be $1000 for three applicants. Please complete the form, including the essay and the name and your relationship with the person who will write your recommendation letter. If a section does not apply to you, enter N/A.   Please send a transcript as well.
